The Programme
Demo: Jess will be leading a whole day on Christi Friesen’s sculpting technique.
This is what Jess has suggested you bring:
- Clay in lots of colours. Pearl clays will be great for this project.
- Various beads in all shapes and sizes (long beads make great flowers!), so seed beads, pearls, stones etc (also gems).
- Mixed media items, so possibly old brooches and jewellery, shells, glass, fibres or fabric, jewellery findings, anything pretty that will bake.
- Jewellery wire (if at hand, if not its not absolutely necessary).
- Paints, inks, metal leaf or mica powders to add interest or for adding a patina afterwards!
Sponges/paintbrushes for applying paints etc. - Tools to poke and pattern the clay, so anything (literally ANYTHING) that has cool patterns or markings (buttons, forks, actual clay tools, pen caps, crumpled up tin foil, rocks, screws etc) and some basic tools for cutting, knitting needles will also be useful if you want to make beads.
