ClayDay 20th March (Colour Workshop)

13/3/2016

It's Spring and our upcoming ClayDay will be all about colour!

Enid will be demonstrating some techniques for adding colour after the clay has been cured, using ink and pens. She will also be showing members how to keep colour recipe records. We will also be experimenting with a cool new tool called Chameleon Pens.

Bright and funky colours will brighten up your projects!

If you would like to try the surface techniques, please bring the following:
  • White polymer clay
  • Fine and medium permanent ink pens in black and colours
  • Acrylic and alcohol inks
  • Liquid polymer clay
  • One or two small but inexpensive paintbrushes
  • Mixing palette or plate or tile
*There will have supplies of pens and alohol inks for members to borrow if they don’t have them

After lunch, Nadia will show members her technique in making a rainbow Skinner blend. Just from using 4 colours, you will get a rainbow coloured gradient blend which can be used in anything! Nadia uses it in her miniatures and even in a small scale, the colour detail is gorgeous. She will be using FIMO Professional clay in this demonstration. To try, bring polymer clays in Red, Yellow, Blue and Magenta (or Fushia)

As usual, we will have our usual tools in the library to try or borrow, trash to treasures, Show and Tell display table, and raffle.

We would appreciate a donation for the raffle and remember to also bring any art surplus that you have to share with other members. Just RSVP to book your place.

See you next Sunday!
