You will need:
  • Clay in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple.
  • Small(ish) circle cutter
  • Blades
  • Pasta machine
A few reminders!
  • Inchies
If you plan to take part in the Inchie Swap, you could bring your 20 Inchie Tiles on Sunday, although there will still be time at our next meeting.  I have attached a photo of 16 Inchies I made for the 2017 20th Anniversary Event in Kidderminster, not as a particularly good example, but just to give you an idea of what it entails.

  • Christi Friesen Weekend
There are still some places available at this event in Kidderminster on 25th and 26th May.  You can find out more about it on the  website: www.bpcg.org.uk  or, on YouTube

  • Debbie Bulford Template Competition
The idea is that, those who want to, should design a template and bring it to the ClayDay next Sunday.  It would be best drawn on a slightly larger than a postcard piece of thin card.  We will then choose a winner at random and keep it secret. I will then send the winner’s design to Debbie Bulford.  An overall winner will be selected and their design will be turned into a template which will then be sent to their group. It will be possible for other groups to buy the templates too and Debbie will offer these at trade price and postage.  There are further details attached.  Could I suggest that you leave a space on your template design to draw round one or two of the bail shapes that I showed you last time, as that template is not available to buy.  If we all put it on, and win, then we will guarantee to get the bail shape!
There will be all of our usual tables and we welcome any raffle donations. Please RSVP your place by emailing apcg@live.co.uk

ClayDay 24 March Report

9/5/2019

ClayDay kicked off with another demo from Enid showing us how to finish off pieces with a professional touch. She shows all the various textures you can do using bought or even using things that we already have in the house. We even saw how she made some bails (after curing) using a stencil so you can get a uniform look in your pieces.
Picture
She even showed us how to make borders look very neat - thick or narrow. We should always clean-up as much as we can before curing and a bit of polishing will help create a more professional-looking finish.
Picture
After lunch, members showed us how they use up their scrap clay to make into other things. Enid made a cool mosaic using scraps and there are infinite possibilities for this as shown by other members who followed this technique

Shelley made some 'galaxy' marbles using her brightly coloured scrap clay and they are so easy to make and turn into beads.

Members also brought their recent makes to the meet. Everyone has such unique talent!

We hope everyone had a good meet this time. Our next ClayDay is only 10 days away and we can't wait!
