A smaller than usual number of people came to our meeting on 20th July. Gill treated us to a fascinating demonstration of faux abalone, which many of us tried out. We were all very excited to welcome Penny Vingoe of Clayaround to Wortham. This is her second visit, and, this time she came with a mouth-watering selection of clay and tools for us to buy. She showed us the new Lucy cane slicing machine. It gives a clean and very precisely measured cut. We had a chance to try it and were very impressed. So much so that we have bought one for the Guild! This will be available to use at each meeting, so bring all your canes for slicing next time. There is a picture of the Lucy Slicer below.
