It was the first meet for 2019 and a great start to the year. Anne taught us how to make a ripple effect which has been simplified so it isn't too complicated. The cut using a ripple blade has to be 90 degrees and you will instantly get good results. The effect gives you nice patterns and possibilities only limited to your imagination. Anne created many types of jewellery and items using this technique. In the afternoon Shelley shows us how to make her famous fairy doors. Using simple sculpting techniques to achieve a realistic door in mini form. You can also decorate it with flowers, moss or even leaves. Texturing and shading the wood and stone add depth and realism. We are glad that some members tried it out even though they are not used to making sculptures. A lot of fairies and little mice will be getting a pleasant surprise. We also saw members most recent makes. There is some serious talent in the guild! We had all of our usual tables, clay for sale as well as 'trash to treasure'. Some lucky members won some gifts during the raffle and we would like to thank everyone who donated prizes.
